Clemmons Architecture is a design oriented studio committed to the principles of innovative urban architecture and a more sustainable built environment. We believe that beautiful, well-organized, sustainable buildings and communities contribute to the dignity and purpose of human actions. We strive to create work that is sustainable (by utilizing passive and active environmentally responsive strategies), urban (by enhancing the local community’s sense of place), and modern (by responding to contemporary social conditions and technologies).
Our diverse portfolio includes residential, commercial, and institutional projects. We focus on urban infill and redevelopment projects – large and small, new construction and renovation/preservation. In addition to our architectural work, we also provide urban design services including site plan studies for individual parcels and master plans for large mixed-use projects.
First formed in 1996, we re-organized as clemmonsArchitecture in 2001. Tim Clemmons, with 25 years of architectural experience, is principal-in-charge and is involved with each project from conception to completion. Each project is assigned a project manager whose role is to ensure the project meets its quality, budget, and schedule goals. Our studio-style office encourages interaction between employees and reflects our philosophy of architectural design as a collaborative enterprise.
Mr. Clemmons has over 25 years of architectural experience. Early in his career Tim worked for award winning architectural firms in both the Tampa Bay and San Francisco Bay areas. His architectural background is broad based and he has extensive experience in multi-family residential, public urban mixed use and historic preservation projects.
In 2001 Tim founded clemmonsAchitecture with the goal of focusing on architectural projects that would serve to revitalize the existing urban centers of the Tampa Bay area. As president of clemmonsArchitecture, Tim is principal-in-charge for all projects undertaken by the firm. The firm is organized to ensure that he is deeply involved in all phases of each project from conceptual design to construction administration.
In conjunction with his architectural practice, he is also a partner in Loftsville, a small company developing high-quality urban infill residential projects in downtown St. Petersburg. Tim’s strong interest in urban issues is also evidenced by his extensive involvement in various civic organizations and initiatives, and through his relationship with the University of South Florida’s School of Architecture and Community Design as an adjunct professor teaching master level classes in architectural and urban design.
Mr. Glenn is an Associate and Senior Project Manager at Clemmons Architecture. He has work experience in all phases of architectural services and has been involved in building programming, site planning, all phases of building design, as well as construction documents and administration, and post-occupancy evaluation. His experience has made him comfortable working on all scales, from single-family homes to large, mixed-use projects. As senior project manager for clemmonsArchitecture, Greg is responsible for ensuring that the quality, cost, and time goals are met for his projects. He has been project manager for the Seybold Lofts, Central Court, Happy Workers Children’s Center, and Grand Central Lofts among others.
His Master’s thesis at the University of South Florida was a redevelopment plan for St. Petersburg’s Bayboro District, focusing on a new home for the Salvador Dali Museum.
Mr. Or is a registered architect within the state of Florida and a project manager with Clemmons Architecture. Cheuk has 12 years of architectural experience, the last five with Clemmons Architecture. As project manager he has been responsible for the design, construction documents, and construction administration of several significant projects including Skyline 5th Apartments, 4th Street Garden Shops, McClellan Glass Studio, and McCollum Hall. Cheuk is adept at computer modeling and as such creates the majority of the firm’s 3D renderings.
Cheuk was born in Hong Kong, spent the majority of his childhood in Ecuador, and moved to Florida when he was 15 years old. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Cantonese.
