Z Grille Restaurant

This 100-seat, 2,400 square foot restaurant is located on the ground floor of Signature Place, a new mixed-use building in downtown St. Petersburg. The three public areas - the dining bar, the dining room, and the “family” dining table   are open to each other but differentiated through materials, ceiling planes, and lighting. The main dining room is a bamboo half-pipe. The dining bar extends the skateboard theme through the use of cast-resin countertops tinted to match skateboard wheels, asphalt gray concrete panels, and “grind rail” foot rests. The lone piece of art is a commissioned piece by the restaurant owner/chef’s tattoo artist. The drawing was scanned and then computer cut into back-lit plexi-glass.
